Dr. Misty R. Gargan, DC
Dr. Misty Gargan first got under chiropractic care after hurting her neck playing tennis at Lynnwood Highschool. "Chiropractic care
helped restore balance to my spine & nervous system, which
allowed me to not miss a single match & achieve a varsity
letter as a freshman!"
Dr. Misty still gets adjusted once a week to keep her immune
system strong, to help her keep up with her nephew, and to get her
ready for her annual dad's backpacking trip. She is also very
active in the community (maybe you've heard of her?). She has a
burning desire to vacation on a vineyard in Italy and one day
wants to create a scholarship foundation.
Dr. Misty has focused her post graduate education on pre-natal care, gentle instrument adjusting techniques,
and Biophysics technique. She specializes in pregnancy care and has
helped dozens of women have more comfortable and successfull
pre-natal experiences.
She and Dr. Andrew have two cats, Henrietta & The Captain. |
Lead Chiropractor |
Dr. Andrew Shannahan, DC
Dr. Shannahan was inspired to become a chiropractor way back in
elementary school. "My best friend's dad was a chiropractor, so at an
early age I was exposed to the chiropractic lifestyle. I was intrigued by
their family's healthy habits (like avoiding sweets, always taking their
vitamins, and not taking medications). Since then, I've learned a lot about
why chiropractic is a unique form of healthcare, and I've become a total
health nut. I hope that you'll be excited about our different approach!"
Dr. Shannahan still gets adjustments once a week to keep his nervous
system free of interference, and to stay connected to his favorite activities
like rock climbing, hiking, b-boying, and gardening. He is also part of the
Big Brother program and is training to climb El Capitan in Yosemite NP.
His post graduate education has focused on nutrition, rehab exercises,
Biophysics technique, and Tour de France protocols with Jeff Spencer (Lance Armstrong's chiropractor). He loves to work with weekend athletes
He and Dr. Misty have two cats, Henrietta & The Captain. |
Clinic Director |
Cathy Oliver, LMP, CST-C
Cathy has been a massage therapist since 2006.
She worked in Kalamazoo, Michigan before moving to the Seattle area. Because most of her school hours didn't transfer to Washington, she had to go to massage school again, so she's been through two massage programs! This has made her a more diverse practitioner with a wider range of skills.
She loves to work on the neck and low back areas. She can often provide lots of relief in a short amount of time, including relief from headaches, hip and low back pain.
She is a Certified Craniosacral Therapist through Bastyr University. This technique involves a very gentle touch in working with the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord, as well as releases the connective tissue in the body. She also uses a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Therapy personalized to the clients’ need. And she is endorsed by the state to provide intraoral treatment (inside the mouth).
Cathy likes to work with a variety of different clients and to help facilitate their healing. She gets really excited about seeing changes and making great improvement in her clients' health.
She plans on taking more classes on Craniosacral technique and learn techniques to help more people with headaches & jaw pain (TMJ disorders).
During massage school, she worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She is very kind and compassionate.
Cathy likes to knit/crochet/sew in her free time. She also wants to learn French and take Salsa dancing lessons.
She has two cats who are still unhappy with her for moving them from Michigan and a kitten who is happy about everything.

Leslie Flynn - CA
Leslie grew up near the sunny California coastline where she developed a fondness for the beach and the calming sounds of the water. Growing up with many brothers (6) in a “sports kind of family”, Leslie says she’s a bit of a tomboy. Family fun often included playing baseball or football as well as camping and fishing. Her favorite sports are baseball (go Dodgers!) and football (go Green Bay!). As the oldest of eight siblings, Leslie sometimes had to take on the role of “caretaker” and “peacemaker”, both good qualities for her position at Summit Family.
Gardening is one of her interests when she’s not at work. She likes to plant flowers and is eager to learn more about the intricacies of gardening. She also reads a lot. She likes authors James Patterson & Vince Flynn.
Leslie would love to travel to Ireland one day. Her family is Irish, so she’d like to learn more about her Irish roots by traveling the country. At home she would like to do more volunteer work, especially something that helps homeless or underprivileged children. She’s also interested in learning the Filipino language. One of her 4 nieces is part Filipino.
Leslie has over 10 years of experience as a Chiropractic Assistant and absolutely loves helping people and hearing patient’s success stories with gentle chiropractic care and massage.
Her own chiropractic story began one day when she woke up with back pain. Coincidentally, she was also looking for a new job at the time and happened to find a chiropractic office that was hiring. She called the office to make an appointment for a new patient exam AND to ask for an interview. She got the job and an exam that same day!
Her favorite part of being a chiropractic patient is how she feels after an adjustment, more energized and like her body is working better.
Leslie has two cats, Tux and Cliff. |
